McKenzie-Willamette: Area's First Nationally Designated Chest Pain Center

You and your family now have the advantage of living in a community with a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center. As of June 15, McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is proud to be Lane County's first and only nationally accredited Chest Pain Center. Building on its reputation as a leader in cardiac care, McKenzie-Willamette applied for and was granted full accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) – a designation held by only two other hospitals in Oregon.

McKenzie-Willamette is proud to have earned Accredited Chest Pain Center status. Most important is what it means to our patients and our community: a commitment to providing the very best emergency and cardiac care, and meeting the highest national standards for quick response, diagnosis and treatment to save lives and heart muscle.

Our Chest Pain Center designation means McKenzie-Willamette cardiologists, emergency physicians and employees – together with Eugene and Springfield EMS and Lane County Dispatch -- are committed to providing the very best emergency and cardiac care, and meeting the highest national standards for quick response, diagnosis, and treatment to save lives and heart muscle.

In addition to our Chest Pain Center designation, we are proud to open our new hybrid cardiac cath lab – part of McKenzie Heart Center. Most people think of hybrids as cars, but our hybrid cardiac cath lab addresses the needs of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization for an artery blockage and need open heart or other cardiovascular surgery. Traditionally, that means moving patients to a surgical suite. With the technology in our new hybrid cardiac cath lab, we can offer the best of both worlds – a surgical suite and cardiac cath lab in one.
