Third Annual  Heart Center Patient Reunion At McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center

Springfield, Ore. — On April 1, McKenzie-Willamette physicians and medical professionals will celebrate and reconnect with former heart surgery patients at the third annual Heart Center Reunion. 

“They gave me a second chance at life,” recalls Gary Workman, a former patient. “The staff was great. They made you feel like you weren’t just a number, you were a person.”

Emotions will almost certainly run high as people like Gary get reacquainted with the heart center staff, outside the trauma of a cardiac episode. Heart Center patients and their loved ones have been invited to attend the event that serves as a thank you to those who had heart surgery at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center from 2006-2009.

The event features a heart-healthy buffet of light refreshments, including sugar-free cake. Those attending the event will also receive a gift bag including a photograph keepsake taken at the event.

Over 250 open heart surgeries have been performed at McKenzie-Willamette Heart Center since 2006. The Heart Center Reunion takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the Umpqua Room at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center.
