Our Philosophy

Our focus is treating the symptoms of your bone and joint conditions. Whether your arthritis is caused by an accident, a sporting injury or another medical condition, our goal is to keep you healthy.
Our trained staff provides compassionate care and personalized solutions during your surgery and rehabilitation. Our doctors, nurses, technologists and therapists work together to support the best outcome for you. We use evidence-based medicine and modern techniques.
Support is an essential component of our program. We want to make sure you have all of the tools that you will need to get back on your feet.
We believe that patients play the biggest role in their own recoveries. In order to provide you with the tools you need, we offer a comprehensive program that integrates pre-op education, surgical procedures and post-op recovery program for patients undergoing joint replacement surgery.
Our staff includes orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, specially trained nurses, therapists, physician’s assistants, and the joint replacement program manager.
What to Expect?
The program begins with education. Before you go in for surgery, you’ll attend a pre-operative class where you’ll receive information on how to prepare before surgery and what to expect during your stay with us. You’re encouraged to bring a friend or family member who can act as a “coach” through the entire process. The more support you have after surgery, the better it is for you and your healing.
Robotic Technology for knee and hip joint replacement
McKenzie-Willamette now offers an innovative solution for many suffering from painful arthritis of the knee or hip. This robotic-assisted procedure utilizes 3D CT-based planning software. This technology allows the surgeon to know more about your anatomy in order to create a more personalized joint replacement surgical plan.
In the operating room, the surgeon follows this personalized surgical plan while preparing the bone for the implant. The surgeon guides the robotic arm within the predefined area, and the highly-focused technology helps the surgeon stay within the planned boundaries defined when the personalized preoperative plan was created. Helping guide the surgeon, this technology is designed to allow for less incisions by cutting precisely what’s planned to help protect healthy bone.
It’s important to understand that the surgery is performed by an orthopaedic surgeon, who guides the robotic arm during the surgery to position the implant in the knee and hip joints. The robot does not perform surgery, make decisions on its own or move without the surgeon guiding it. Additionally, this technology allows surgeons to make adjustments during the surgery as needed.
If you would like more information on this Robotic Technology or if you would like to know of an Orthopedic Surgeon that uses the technology, please call 541.744.6164 or email janwat@mckweb.com.
